Community groups across West Northamptonshire invited to apply for grants of up to £3,000

"Welcoming Spaces play an important role in bringing communities together, helping to tackle isolation and ensuring residents have access to support close to home”

Community organisations across West Northamptonshire are being invited to apply for grants of up to £3,000 as part of a £100,000 funding programme aimed at strengthening local support networks.

West Northamptonshire Council has launched the latest round of its Welcoming Spaces programme, which supports organisations providing safe, inclusive places where residents can meet others and access community services.

Town and parish councils are also eligible to apply for funding, which has been provided by the Government through the Community Coordination element of its Crisis and Resilience Fund.

The refreshed programme introduces three funding tiers, with grants linked to the level of support organisations provide.

Bronze organisations, offering safe and welcoming spaces, can receive £1,000, while Silver recognises increased community participation and engagement.

Gold organisations, demonstrating strong local impact through partnerships and community leadership, can receive £3,000.

Applications will be assessed against programme standards and local needs, including existing facilities and services.

Councillor Charlie Hastie, deputy leader of West Northamptonshire Council and cabinet member for housing and communities, said: "Welcoming Spaces play an important role in bringing communities together, helping to tackle isolation and ensuring residents have access to support close to home.

"This funding will help local organisations continue to provide welcoming, inclusive environments while strengthening the valuable contribution they make within their neighbourhoods."

Organisations can request an application form and guidance pack by emailing [email protected].

The deadline for applications is November 6, 2026.
