Whittlebury Park to invest £4million as part of ambitious renewable energy project
Whittlebury Park has taken a major step towards a greener future, earmarking a £4million investment that could see the Northamptonshire resort become almost entirely self-sufficient from the National Grid.

The first phase of the project, costing £174,000, will see a 231kWp solar system installed on the roof of The Atrium, generating enough electricity annually to power approximately 80 homes and reducing the resort’s carbon emissions by an estimated 80 tonnes each year.
The investment marks the beginning of a much larger sustainability programme, with a further £4 million solar installation planned as the next stage of Whittlebury Parks journey towards carbon neutrality.
Preconstruction work began on 21st September, with the main installation taking place throughout October. The project is being delivered by LCS Energy, with final testing, commissioning and handover scheduled for 29th October.
Marc Webster, Commercial Director at Whittlebury Park, said, “This is a really exciting step forward for Whittlebury Park and something we have been working towards for some time. Investing in renewable energy is not just about reducing our environmental impact, but about making the resort more sustainable for the future.
“With this first phase now underway and much bigger plans ahead, our ambition is to eventually generate almost all of the electricity we need ourselves, significantly reducing our reliance on the National Grid.”
The project forms part of Whittlebury Park’s wider commitment to reducing its carbon footprint while continuing to invest in the long-term future of the resort.
