Plans to demolish Northampton church and build new community hub and homes among latest planning applications
Plans to demolish a Northampton church and replace it with a new place of worship and community hub are among the latest planning applications submitted to West Northamptonshire Council.
The proposals for Headlands United Reformed Church, in The Headlands, also include the construction of up to six homes fronting Fullingdale Road.
The hybrid application seeks full planning permission to demolish the existing church and church hall and construct a replacement building, alongside outline permission for the residential development (2026/3870/FULL).
Elsewhere, plans have been submitted for up to 30 homes on land east of Mill Lane in Greens Norton.

The major application, which does not accord with the existing development plan, seeks outline permission with all matters reserved except access. Associated infrastructure is also proposed (2026/0703/MAO).
In Blakesley, an outline application has been submitted for nine homes on land adjoining the village hall. Access and layout would be determined at this stage, with other details reserved (2026/3502/OUT).
Other applications include a proposed crematorium and wake facility on land west of Round Spinney, Thorpeville, Moulton (2026/3711/MAF).
In Northampton town centre, separate applications seek permission for the redevelopment and potential new uses of the Corn Exchange in Greyfriars, alongside internal and external alterations to the listed building (2026/3868/FULL and 2026/3869/LBC).
Further proposals include a first-floor extension at 3 Home Close, Silverstone (2026/0358/FULL), and a side extension and garage conversion at 26 North Street, Rothersthorpe (2026/3532/HH).
At Dovecote, Passenham Road, Thorpeville, Moulton, applications seek permission for extensions and alterations to the property (2026/3733/HH and 2026/3735/LBC).
Listed building consent is also sought for replacement windows at flats 2, 3 and 9, 76–78 Overstone Road, Thorpeville, Moulton (2026/3775/LBC), and chimney alterations at The Reading Room, 50 Cross Tree Road, Wicken (2026/3990/LBC).
