Wedding fair to bring 30 independent suppliers to Northamptonshire’s newest idyllic countryside venue

A wedding fair will bring together 30 independent suppliers at Northamptonshire’s newest venue in the idyllic county countryside.

Next month, a wedding event is happening at The Shire Retreat near Towcester – with the aim of couples having conversations that move them on in the planning process, not just holding brochures.

The Wedding Oasis Fair at The Shire Retreat will take place on Sunday, November 15 from 11am until 3pm. Entry is free and if you book early, you will receive a complimentary welcome drink and branded tote bag on arrival.

Northamptonshire wedding photographer Michael Calders founded The Wedding Oasis to give quality, independent suppliers another way to connect with newly engaged couples.

30 local businesses will be at the event, including florists, caterers, photographers, musicians and bakers, with proceeds from the day supporting charities including Cynthia Spencer Hospice and Kettering Food Bank.

The Shire Retreat sits on a 150-acre private estate and has built a reputation for weddings bespoke to the couple, as opposed to offering standard packages. They offer a blank canvas with no fixed formats.

A small lakeside marquee looks completely different to a ceremony in the walled garden, and all the wedding hires include the use of the space for the entire weekend. This gives plenty of time to pack down and the option to add a post-wedding wellness recovery day, including a soundbath, sauna, yoga and more.

The Shire’s wedding coordinator Lily said: “We want to create a relaxed, fun and welcoming space where you can feel inspired, enjoy the experience and take the stress out of wedding planning.

“We’ve brought together some of the area’s most amazing wedding suppliers, all under one roof, giving you the chance to discover inspiration, ask questions, make connections and find the perfect people to help bring your dream wedding to life.”

Live music and food will run throughout the afternoon, and couples are welcome to bring parents, family members or friends to the event, located at Pury Hill Farm on Alderton Road.
