Award-winning musical Blood Brothers returning to Northampton's Royal & Derngate this November
One of Britain's best-loved musicals is returning to Northampton this autumn, with Blood Brothers set to take to the stage at Royal & Derngate.
The award-winning production, written by playwright Willy Russell, will run at the Derngate theatre from Tuesday, November 24, to Saturday, November 28, as part of its latest UK tour.
Bill Kenwright's production tells the emotional story of twin brothers separated at birth who grow up in very different circumstances before being reunited, with tragic consequences.
The story centres on Mrs Johnstone, a struggling mother abandoned by her husband and left raising seven children.

After discovering she is expecting twins, she makes a desperate agreement with her employer, setting in motion events that will change their lives forever.
The Northampton performances will feature Vivienne Carlyle as Mrs Johnstone, alongside Richard Munday as the narrator.
Sean Jones and Joe Sleight will play the twin brothers, Mickey and Eddie, with Tricia Adele Turner appearing as Mrs Lyons and Beth Danher as Linda.
Blood Brothers began life as a play performed at a Liverpool school in 1981, before opening at Liverpool Playhouse in 1983.
It subsequently became an international success, winning four Best Musical awards in London and receiving seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.
Russell is also known for writing Educating Rita and Shirley Valentine.
The production, directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright, runs for approximately two hours and 45 minutes, including an interval.
Tickets for the Northampton performances can be booked through Royal & Derngate's box office on 01604 624811 or online.
