Shaun McWilliams joins new club
Shaun McWilliams has joined Cheltenham Town.
The 27-year-old midfielder, who came through Northampton’s academy and played 200 times for the club, was released by Rotherham United earlier in the summer.
“I am delighted to be here, I’m buzzing,” said McWilliams. “I had a conversation with the gaffer, and he sold it to me, he was the selling point and made it a no brainer for me. He told me his vision and how he wants to play, it made it an easy decision and I just can’t wait to get going and get on the pitch.”
Manager Steve Cotterill added: “I’m really happy to have Shaun here with us. He gives us something different to what we have in midfield, opposing teams won’t enjoy playing against him. He has a bit of bite and gets around the pitch well, I look forward to having him as part of our group for the season ahead.”
