The EFL Board are to hold an emergency meeting on Friday morning to make a decision on this weekend’s fixtures and beyond due to more cases of the coronavirus.

The EFL released a statement on Thursday stating that all games would go ahead as planned but the fixtures, including Cobblers' trip to Forest Green Rovers, are in fresh doubt.

Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi has become the first Premier League player to test positive for coronavirus while Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is self-isolating after also testing positive for the virus.

The Premier League are subsequently holding an emergency phone-conference at 10.30am on Friday with a suspension of several weeks probable to include an international break.

An EFL Spokesman said: “The EFL Board will meet this morning to make a decision on this weekend’s fixtures and beyond.”
