Two former Northamptonshire Police officers would have been sacked after lying about relationship
An internal disciplinary hearing found two officers guilty of gross misconduct after allegations they were dishonest about a relationship while one was tutoring the other.
Two former Northamptonshire Police officers would have been dismissed without notice after a disciplinary panel found they had been dishonest about their relationship.
According to Northamptonshire Police, PC P1056 Mark Robinson and former PC P0729 Bethany Wilkins were investigated over allegations they were in a relationship while Robinson was tutoring Wilkins and lied when questioned about it.
A gross misconduct hearing took place at Force Headquarters on Monday, October 19, 2026.

The force said both officers were accused of breaching professional standards relating to honesty and integrity, while Robinson faced an additional allegation concerning duties and responsibilities.
Wilkins had already resigned before the hearing and did not attend, while Robinson attended but resigned before proceedings concluded.
Northamptonshire Police confirmed the panel found the allegations proved as gross misconduct and determined both officers would have been dismissed without notice had they remained in service.
The panel stated: “There is no place for such behaviour in policing.
"Honesty and integrity underpin everything the public rightly expect from the police officers who serve and protect them. Dishonesty is fundamentally incompatible with every aspect of the role required of all officers.
"Both Officers failed to meet the high standards rightfully expected of them by the public by virtue of their conduct in this case.”
