Northampton care home residents donate more than 60 essential items to Weston Favell foodbank

Residents and staff at a Northampton retirement village have donated more than 60 food and essential items to a local foodbank as part of their Harvest Festival celebrations.

Richmond Villages Northampton organised the collection to support Weston Favell Centre Foodbank, which helps people facing hardship in the community.

A donation basket was placed in the village reception between September 30 and October 9, with residents contributing tinned vegetables, fruit, soups, puddings and UHT milk.

Residents then visited the foodbank to personally deliver the supplies.

Edlira Xhemalaj, operations manager at Weston Favell Centre Foodbank, thanked residents and staff for their generosity.

She said donations of essential items helped the foodbank support local people facing hardship and poverty.
