Shop in Northampton's Grosvenor Centre advertises ‘everything must go’ closing down sale

A shop in Northampton's Grosvenor Centre is advertising an ‘everything must go’ closing down sale.

Outdoor clothing retailer Trespass, on the top floor of the shopping centre, has put up signs saying it is closing down.

It is not yet known when the store will shut for the final time.

The Chronicle & Echo has contacted the Grosvenor Centre and Trespass for comment.

The retailer officially began announcing its wave of restructuring and store closures in July 2023.

It first confirmed it would shut an initial batch of six UK outlets due to challenging trading conditions and declining high street footfall.

There were a further 12 store closures in the UK in 2024.

More closures took place in 2025 and earlier this year.

Trespass was founded in Glasgow in 1938 under the name Jacobs & Turner Ltd.

The company began by supplying uniforms and clothing to large organisations before moving into outdoor clothing.
