This newspaper has partnered with the Irchester-based Animals in Need charity to help find all of their rescue dogs loving homes in the New Year.
Charity boss Annie Marriott said: "When people adopt a rescue, they save two dogs: the one they bring home and the one that gets the empty kennel. Their lives often depend on it. All our dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, parasite-treated, and come with four weeks of free insurance, a session with dog behaviourist Nathan Watson, and rescue support for their entire lives.
"If you're interested in welcoming one of our dogs into your home, please email [email protected]. We always conduct a home check and cannot rehome dogs to families with children under five years."
Please visit the Animals in Need website to check the full adoption guidelines and rules around rehoming a rescue dog.
Below are the dogs needing rehoming, with descriptions provided by Annie.

17. Bear
Bear is a nine-month-old male Crossbreed. He is super-friendly with humans. He is fine around other dogs, unless they are reactive. He is very strong on the lead and currently knows no commands, so his family will need to be committed to ongoing training. He cannot live with or near cats. He is quite calm and loves cuddles, so with some guidance he will make a lovely family companion. Photo: AIN

18. Flossie
Flossie is a beautiful crossbreed, Labrador-sized, and just over 18 months old. This is her second stay with us, and this time she is looking for that extra special someone who will truly understand her needs and worries. Flossie needs a home where she can navigate her new life with support, love, patience, and empathy. Flossie hasn’t been exposed to much of the outside world, but her confidence is growing every day, and she has a strong desire to learn. She has so much love to give and great potential if given the time and training she deserves. Flossie has a fun-loving, quirky side and is very playful once she feels comfortable with you. She is fully house-trained and walks wonderfully on a lead. Unfortunately, she was returned because her previous owner’s home became too busy for Flossie, which frightened her. She needs to take things slowly, at her own pace, and gradually build up to new situations. If you're looking for a loving, patient companion who will blossom with the right guidance, Flossie could be the perfect match for you. Photo: AIN

19. Mr Kipling
Mr Kipling is a six-year-old Chihuahua cross Papillon with a sweet personality. He walks well on the lead and is non-reactive to other dogs when out and about. However, he does show signs of resource guarding, particularly around food, so this will need to be managed carefully. Mr Kipling could live with sensible older children who understand his need for personal space. He doesn’t trust strangers, so it's important to avoid contact with a lot of people until he has settled in and learned some manners. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a small, affectionate companion who just needs time to feel secure, Mr Kipling could be the perfect match for you. Photo: AIN

20. Lulu
Lulu is a large three-year-old beautiful brindle crossbreed girl. She is very food motivated and loves her toys. She does pull on her lead, so will need a strong handler. She has so far been good with other dogs. She should be fine to live with sensible dog-savvy children over the age of 12 years. She could not live with cats. She is very vocal and could not be left for long hours. Lulu will make a lovely companion for a large breed-experienced family. Photo: AIN
