This newspaper has partnered with the Irchester-based Animals in Need charity to help find all of their rescue dogs loving homes in the New Year.
Charity boss Annie Marriott said: "When people adopt a rescue, they save two dogs: the one they bring home and the one that gets the empty kennel. Their lives often depend on it. All our dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, parasite-treated, and come with four weeks of free insurance, a session with dog behaviourist Nathan Watson, and rescue support for their entire lives.
"If you're interested in welcoming one of our dogs into your home, please email [email protected]. We always conduct a home check and cannot rehome dogs to families with children under five years."
Please visit the Animals in Need website to check the full adoption guidelines and rules around rehoming a rescue dog.
Below are the dogs needing rehoming, with descriptions provided by Annie.

13. Solly
Silly Solly is a bit of a clown with a mischievous side that’s sure to keep you smiling. His antics are so endearing, it’s impossible not to laugh at his playful nature. Solly walks nicely on the lead and gets along brilliantly with other dogs. He wears a muzzle when out walking as a precaution due to his background as an ex-racer. Solly is clean in his kennel throughout the day, though he may need a bit of time to adjust to a new environment. He is very food-motivated, sometimes even helping himself to his rewards, which adds to his cheeky charm. Because of this, he wouldn’t be suitable to live with smaller children who might have sticky fingers! If you’re looking for a fun-loving, mischievous companion who will bring laughter into your home, Solly could be the perfect fit for you. Photo: AIN

14. Skye
Skye is a beautiful eight-year-old female GSD. She is very intelligent, and knows basic commands. She loves everyone and would be fine to live with sensible dog-savvy children. She can be reactive to some dogs if they are too close. She cannot live with cats. Photo: AIN

15. RJ
RJ is a real character, full of life and playful energy. He can sometimes get a little carried away, but there's absolutely no malice in him—he’s just a clumsy doofus with a big heart. Due to his excitable nature, he would not be suitable to live with young children. RJ loves a good nap and often finds the most peculiar sleeping positions, but somehow, he finds them comfortable! He is super-affectionate and loves everyone he meets, always eager for attention. He walks nicely on the lead and gets on well with other dogs, although he will need close supervision when food is involved. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion and can provide the supervision he needs, RJ could be the perfect addition to your family. Photo: AIN

16. Hallie
Hallie is a one-year-old Crossbreed with a lively personality. She’s showing signs of being an escapologist and can scale high fences, so her new home will need to be secure. Hallie also has separation anxiety, which may be linked to her stress in kennels, so settling into a calm, stable environment is important for her. She can be possessive around food, so we recommend not feeding her around other dogs. However, when food is not involved, she gets along well with them. Hallie will need ongoing training, as she is strong and tends to pull on the lead until she calms down. Hallie loves people, and once she has settled into her new home, she will make an incredibly loyal and loving companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will bond deeply and be a devoted friend, Hallie could be the perfect match for you. Photo: AIN
