This newspaper has partnered with the Irchester-based Animals in Need charity to help find all of their rescue dogs loving homes in the New Year.
Charity boss Annie Marriott said: "When people adopt a rescue, they save two dogs: the one they bring home and the one that gets the empty kennel. Their lives often depend on it. All our dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, parasite-treated, and come with four weeks of free insurance, a session with dog behaviourist Nathan Watson, and rescue support for their entire lives.
"If you're interested in welcoming one of our dogs into your home, please email [email protected]. We always conduct a home check and cannot rehome dogs to families with children under five years."
Please visit the Animals in Need website to check the full adoption guidelines and rules around rehoming a rescue dog.
Below are the dogs needing rehoming, with descriptions provided by Annie.

25. Max
Handsome Max is a six-year-old intelligent dog who already knows quite a few commands. He walks nicely on the lead, although he can be reactive to traffic and joggers, so his new family will need to work on desensitising him to these triggers. Max cannot live with other animals. Max would thrive in a breed-experienced, adult-only home with no visitors. He is wary of strangers and takes a long time to build trust, but once he does, he is loyal and protective. A calm, quiet environment where Max can feel secure and loved will be ideal for him. If you have experience with dogs who need time to bond and are looking for a devoted companion, Max could be the perfect match for you. Photo: AIN

26. Harley
Harley is a beautiful three-year-old Frenchie cross (possibly SBT) with a strong personality. She can be quite stubborn, so an experienced owner is required who can provide the firm guidance she needs. Harley gets very excited and will need reminders of her manners, especially as she is strong on the lead. She is reactive to other dogs and chases cats, so she would be best suited as the only pet in the home. Harley would be fine to live with sensible teenagers, but she is not suited to a home with younger children. This gorgeous girl needs a family who can commit to ongoing training and provide her with the structure and attention she deserves. If you're an experienced dog owner looking for a loving but spirited companion, Harley could be the perfect fit for your home. Photo: AIN

27. Simba
Simba is a three-year-old Malinois, a breed that is not for the faint-hearted. He needs an experienced, firm but fair home where boundaries are set and respected. Simba is a natural guard dog, and with the right training, he will become a loyal and protective family member. He is housetrained and knows basic commands, but ongoing training is essential to help him thrive. Simba has spinal arachnoid diverticula, a lifelong condition that affects his balance and coordination. While it does not cause him pain, he may require steroid medication from time to time, depending on the severity of his symptoms. This condition means that some adjustments to his exercise routine will be necessary. Simba will make an amazing companion for the right family, one that can provide the care, attention, and training he needs. If you're experienced with strong, intelligent dogs and able to accommodate his health needs, Simba could be a perfect fit for your home. Photo: AIN

28. Bandit
Bandit is a 10-year-old terrier with a lively personality. As a typical terrier, he would be best suited to a home without small furries. He enjoys an active lifestyle and will thrive in a family that can provide plenty of exercise and engagement. Bandit also loves cuddles, but he prefers them on his own terms, so an understanding family that respects his space will be ideal for him. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a bit of terrier spirit, Bandit could be the perfect match for your home. Photo: AIN
