This newspaper has partnered with the Irchester-based Animals in Need charity to help find all of their rescue dogs loving homes in the New Year.
Charity boss Annie Marriott said: "When people adopt a rescue, they save two dogs: the one they bring home and the one that gets the empty kennel. Their lives often depend on it. All our dogs are neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, parasite-treated, and come with four weeks of free insurance, a session with dog behaviourist Nathan Watson, and rescue support for their entire lives.
"If you're interested in welcoming one of our dogs into your home, please email [email protected]. We always conduct a home check and cannot rehome dogs to families with children under five years."
Please visit the Animals in Need website to check the full adoption guidelines and rules around rehoming a rescue dog.
Below are the dogs needing rehoming, with descriptions provided by Annie.

21. Patch
Patch is a sad, confused 14-year-old Boxer cross boy who was handed in by his family, who could no longer keep him. He is understandably anxious in the kennel environment, as it's too busy and noisy for him. Patch is looking for a quiet home filled with love and patience, which will help him settle and turn his life around. He has lived with another dog before but is not keen on cats. Although he can be strong and boisterous, he will thrive in a home with a firm hand and someone who can offer him the structure and guidance he needs. If you're looking for a loyal companion who deserves a peaceful, loving environment in his golden years, Patch could be the perfect dog for you. Photo: AIN

22. Chester & Honey
Chester is a six-year-old lad, and his best friend is the sweet Honey, who is 9. They are small crossbreeds looking for a home together, ideally in a pet-free environment. Chester is reactive to other dogs when out walking, and they have no recall, so they will need to attend training classes to help with this. Our dog walkers love taking Chester and Honey out, and they are fine being left in the home for a few hours at a time. When Chester feels insecure, he may scent mark, but this is something that can be worked on and remedied with patience. Chester and Honey are both very sweet and would make lovely companions for an active family with children over the age of 10, who can keep them busy and help them thrive. If you're looking for a pair of loyal, fun-loving dogs to join your family, Chester and Honey could be the perfect match. Photo: AIN

23. Cash
Cash is a handsome young Greyhound who, once he gets to know other dogs and builds trust, will be their friend. As is typical for the breed, he cannot share his home with cats or small furries. Initially, Cash suffered from separation anxiety, but with time and patience, this has greatly improved, and it is something that can continue to be worked on. His garden will need to be very secure, as he is a Greyhound with a strong prey drive. Cash is good with people of all ages and knows some basic commands, so ongoing training would be beneficial. He is a well-rounded dog who will make a lovely companion for a family or individual willing to provide him with the time and care he needs. Photo: AIN

24. Milo
Milo is a happy and energetic 8-year-old large JRT X looking for a new home. He is best suited to an adult-only home, as he has a tendency to hide and guard treats, so his new family will need to understand and respect his need for personal space. Milo cannot live or socialise with other dogs, and he has a strong instinct to chase other animals and birds, so a pet-free home is essential. He was rehomed by us a few years ago but has returned through no fault of his own. Being a very busy dog, Milo will need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy. If you're an experienced owner who can provide the time, attention, and boundaries Milo needs, he will make a devoted and loving companion. Photo: AIN
