25 inspiring stories showcase charities changing lives across Northamptonshire
Northampton charities helping people facing poverty, isolation and poor health are among the organisations featured in a new film series celebrating 25 years of community funding across the county.
Northamptonshire Community Foundation has teamed up with Northampton Film Festival to produce 25 Stories of Change, highlighting the work of groups supported by its grants.
The foundation, established in 2001, says it has awarded more than £25 million to charities and community organisations over the past quarter of a century.
Among those appearing in the films are Northampton Hope Centre, Baby Basics Northampton, Good Loaf CIC and Springs Family Centre, alongside Care and Repair Northamptonshire and Northamptonshire Carers.

The series also features projects elsewhere in the county, including Adrenaline Alley, Crick Allotment Society, Daventry Contact, Daylight Centre, Friends of West Glebe Park, Groundwork Northamptonshire and Home-Start Wellingborough.
Other participating organisations include Kettering Community Unit, Pearls of Peace, Right Resolution CIC, Sakhi Milap, SNVB, South Northants Youth Engagement, Stride & Ride CIC, The Chapel Gym, The Core at Corby Cube, The Teamwork Trust, Victoria Centre and Volunteer Action Oundle.
The campaign also aims to show how local action in Northamptonshire can contribute to significant wider efforts to reduce inequalities.
The short films will be released over the coming months, giving audiences an insight into organisations working to address disadvantage, inequality and challenges affecting people's wellbeing.
Rachel McGrath, chief executive of Northamptonshire Community Foundation, said: “As we celebrate 25 years of giving in Northamptonshire, it felt important to shine a light on the organisations that are at the heart of our communities.”
She said the project was an opportunity to recognise groups making a difference and share their achievements with a wider audience.
Becky Carrier, from Northampton Film Festival, said: “It has been a privilege to meet so many inspiring organisations and the people whose lives they are impacting.”
She added: “The stories we've filmed show that meaningful change often starts at a local level, and we're excited to help bring those stories to a wider audience.”
The project has received support through the Global Challenges Local Solutions programme, with funding from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
The foundation said every organisation featured had recently received grant funding through its programmes.
Films will appear on the foundation's website and social media channels, with further information available at www.ncf.uk.com/our-work/25-stories-of-change.
