Northampton care home celebrates three decades of care – with oldest resident aged 104
A Northampton care home which has looked after almost 1,000 older people over the past three decades has celebrated its 30th anniversary – with its oldest resident now aged 104.
Oaklodge Care Home, in Duston, marked the milestone on October 16, bringing together residents, relatives, staff and community partners for a special celebration.
Representatives from West Northamptonshire Council's quality monitoring and safeguarding teams also attended the event, which featured live music, dancing, speeches and a celebratory buffet.
Residents enjoyed a performance of classic songs from their younger years, with many singing along, dancing and sharing memories with their families.

The home's registered manager, Tal, reflected on its history and the friendships formed over the years.
Tal said: “Oak Lodge has become far more than a care home. It is a place of safety, dignity and belonging, a true home-from-home for every resident who has walked through our doors.
“Today we celebrate not only 30 years of Oak Lodge Care Home, but also 30 years of memories, friendships, achievements and lives touched.”
Among the home's milestones are several residents celebrating their 100th birthdays, while its oldest resident, aged 104, has lived there for more than a decade.
The home's provider, Vipin, also paid tribute to generations of staff who have supported residents since Oaklodge opened in 1995.
Vipin said: “Over the past three decades, we have had the privilege of providing a home-from-home atmosphere to almost one thousand residents.”
Thanks were also extended to families, healthcare professionals, volunteers and local organisations for their continued support.
The anniversary celebrations included a special cake-cutting ceremony attended by residents, relatives, staff and guests.
The afternoon concluded with a buffet prepared by the home's team, bringing the anniversary celebrations to a close as Oaklodge looks ahead to its fourth decade of caring for Northampton's older residents.
