Northampton Saints fans warned of new parking system and possible matchday queues at car park
Northampton Saints supporters are being warned of potential matchday queues following the introduction of a new parking system at the Claret Car Park.
Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras and barriers have been installed at Claret Car Park, which is operated by West Northamptonshire Council.
The changes come as reduced parking capacity remains in place across the stadium site for the 2026/27 season.
A Northampton Saints spokesperson confirmed the cost of using Claret Car Park remains £10 on matchdays, but urged supporters to pay on arrival to avoid delays when leaving after games.

Under the new system, cameras automatically read vehicle registrations as drivers approach the entrance, allowing the barriers to open.
The spokesperson explained that supporters can pay at an on-site machine when they arrive, before returning to their vehicles or by card or phone at the exit barrier.
However, the club warned that barriers will not open until payment has been completed, meaning those leaving it until after the match could face additional queues.
Alternatively, drivers can register for the council's WestPARK online payment system before arriving, allowing the £10 charge to be collected automatically when they leave.
The Saints spokesperson also warned supporters against following other vehicles too closely through the barriers, as each registration must be scanned individually.
Drivers whose number plates cannot be recognised should press the grey button at the entrance to obtain a ticket, which must be retained and used for payment.
The club has advised supporters to arrive well before kick-off and allow extra time when entering and leaving while people become familiar with the changes.
The spokesperson stressed that Claret Car Park, including its payment arrangements and barriers, is managed entirely by West Northamptonshire Council.
Northampton Saints has no responsibility for operating the car park or the new ANPR system.
Supporters can register for WestPARK through the council's website ahead of their next matchday visit.
