Special sponsorship for big match

Football fans Silverstone Leasing were the sponsor for a highly anticipated match at Northampton Town Football Club last weekend, which saw former Brazil and Chelsea forward Alexandre Pato in attendance for the first game since a consortium took the helm at The Cobblers.

Pato, who is set to join the board at the Cobblers as part of the takeover, was given a hero’s welcome at Sixfields from almost 6,000 fans who turned out despite the stormy weather to be a part of the club’s historic day.

Silverstone Leasing are renowned supporters of The Cobblers and have sponsored warm up t-shirts and a board at the ground over the years. This year they are principal partners of the team.

As match sponsors on Saturday, the leading vehicle leasing firm went all out for such a special game, providing mini stress ball footballs for everyone in the Tollers hospitality lounge to calm nerves and presenting a gift hamper to Pato in celebration of his new venture.

The Silverstone team also chose the Player of the Match which went to Connor Evans and The Cobblers beat Colchester United two goals to nil, taking them out of the League 2 relegation zone.
