Christmas-loving couple make ‘difficult decision’ to step back from selling real trees after eight years
A Christmas-loving couple has made the “difficult decision” to step back from selling real trees after eight years of spreading festive cheer across Northamptonshire.
Tree Buddy was a family-run business, set up by husband and wife Andy and Kelly Cohen in 2018, and they took to social media to make the sad announcement that it will not be returning this Christmas.
The family loves everything about Christmas time and set up this venture with the aim of helping others, by taking a job off their lists in the run up to a busy time of year.
The pair had previously struggled to buy a quality Christmas tree and get it home, with the issues of needles falling off and it not lasting until the big day.

They decided there had to be an easier way and Tree Buddy was born. For every delivery – whether it was to the door or for an in-house installation – Andy the Elf turned up and this was a special annual tradition for many families across the county.
Customers appreciated the hassle-free delivery of quality trees with service that spread Christmas cheer, and it did not take long for businesses to jump on the bandwagon to surprise their staff with a bit of fun.
Tree Buddy’s social media announcement read: “After eight fabulous years, we’ve made the difficult decision that Tree Buddy won’t be returning this Christmas.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision. Tree Buddy has been such a special part of our lives, and we know it’s also become part of Christmas for so many of you. We’re very aware that some of you will be disappointed, and we’re genuinely sorry that we won’t be bringing your Christmas trees to your doors this year.

“Over the past eight years, we’ve loved being part of your Christmas traditions, seeing familiar faces return year after year, welcoming new families, and helping to bring a little extra Christmas magic to your homes.”
The team said there have been so many special moments they will always treasure, from the excited children waiting for Andy the Elf to arrive to the lovely messages and photos that customers shared.
“But as time goes on, circumstances change,” the statement continued. “With rising costs, the ever-increasing time and commitment involved, and some personal factors, we’ve taken the time to think about what’s right for us going forward.
“As much as we’ve loved every minute of Tree Buddy, we feel the time has come to step back, remember the good times and end on a high.

“We want to say a huge thank you to every single person who has ordered a tree, recommended us to friends and family, shared our posts, or supported our little business in any way. Your loyalty, kindness and enthusiasm have meant more to us than you’ll ever know.
“Eight years of Christmas trees, muddy boots, festive deliveries, a little elf magic and so many wonderful memories. We couldn’t have done it without you. So, for now, it’s goodbye from Tree Buddy, and a very big thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
