Spec-tacular store opening for Wellingborough opticians
The team at Specsavers Wellingborough marked the opening of its new, larger store on Monday 19 October with a spectacular celebration.

The relocation has seen Specsavers in Wellingborough move within the Swangate Shopping Centre to a new and larger premises at 6-7 Corn Lane.
To mark the occasion, the store was decorated with a green and white balloon arch and welcomed a visit from the Specsavers Big Ear mascot. Joining the team for the celebrations were Wellingborough’s Mayor, Councillor Sylvia Erskine, and Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins, who cut the ribbon to officially welcome the local community inside.

Dame Mary comments: ‘It was a pleasure to join the team to celebrate the opening of their new store. Congratulations to the store directors, Rikesh Chauhan, Wayne Barry and Irfan Makda, and the rest of the Wellingborough team.’
The new premises boasts 9 optical consulting rooms, 5 diagnostic rooms, 2 dedicated audiology rooms, a separate contact lens area and a state-of-the-art dry eye therapy room. With more than double the space of their previous location, the move has created a more accessible and practical environment for both customers and colleagues.
‘The new store looks fantastic,’ adds Councillor Sylvia Erskine. ‘It’s great to see this investment in Wellingborough, giving the team more space to provide the best eye and ear care for the local community.’
Store director Rikesh Chauhan comments: ‘Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the opening and made it such a success. We’re excited to be in our new home and look forward to welcoming customers through the doors. Please do pop in and see us soon.’
