Northamptonshire housebuilder celebrates Air Ambulance Week with charity of the year announcement

To mark Air Ambulance Week (7th – 13th September), David Wilson Homes South Midlands has announced the continuation of its partnership with Your Local Air Ambulance (YLAA) as its Charity of the Year.

Air Ambulance Week is the national campaign dedicated to raising awareness of the UK's 21 air ambulance charities and the vital services they provide. Led by Air Ambulances UK, the campaign highlights the critical role air ambulance crews play in bringing advanced emergency care directly to patients.

Your Local Air Ambulance provides expert critical care across Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, delivering hospital-level treatment directly to patients when every second counts. Its highly skilled crews provide lifesaving interventions at the scene of serious incidents and during transfers to hospital.

Following a successful year of fundraising, David Wilson Homes South Midlands has chosen to continue supporting the charity over the coming year.

Previous fundraising activities included a charity golf day, clay pigeon shoot, annual awards dinner and popular pub quiz, which collectively raised more than £100,000 for Your Local Air Ambulance. Building on this success, employees will take part in a range of fundraising initiatives throughout the year to help the charity continue providing critical care and rapid response services across the region.

It has proved to be one of our most successful COY partnerships ever.

The extension of this partnership couldn’t have come at a better time, with our Big Base Appeal is picking up steam as we look to fund our first ever purpose-built facility and to have the support of one of the nation’s most reputable home builders really means the world!”

The UK's air ambulance charities respond to more than 50,000 missions each year. With an average mission costing £4,748 and no day-to-day government funding, these services rely on the support of individuals, communities and businesses to keep their helicopters flying and critical care teams responding.
