Young Northamptonshire drivers offered free winter driving experience at Silverstone's Porsche Centre
Young drivers across Northamptonshire are being offered the chance to improve their skills and prepare for challenging winter road conditions at a free event at Silverstone.
The Northamptonshire Safer Roads Alliance (NSRA) is inviting motorists aged 17 to 30 to take part in the final CarKraft Driving Experience of the year at the Porsche Experience Centre on Sunday, November 1.
The event will give qualified drivers practical experience of handling difficult road conditions, including skid-car training designed to improve control on wet or icy surfaces.
Participants will also learn about HGV blind spots, hazard awareness, observation and decision-making while developing their confidence behind the wheel.

An interactive workshop will cover speeding, mobile phone use, drink and drug driving, seatbelts, Smart Motorways and recent changes to road traffic legislation.
CarKraft is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, having launched in 2001.
More than 30,000 young people have participated in the programme, which aims to reduce road casualties by improving driving skills and awareness.
The NSRA said the experience was suitable for newly qualified motorists and those who have been driving for several years.
Two free sessions are available, starting at 8am and 1pm, although places are limited.
Drivers wishing to attend can book their place through the CarKraft website at www.carkraft.info before the event.
