Former Wasps and Wales fly-half Stephen Jones will take over the role of head coach until the end of the season.

Newcastle currently sit bottom of the Gallagher PREM standings, having won just one of their 10 league games so far this season.

They have picked up just five points so far, meaning they are 38 behind Saints, who are currently top of the table.

And ahead of the game at the Gardens, Newcastle released the following statement to confirm Dickens' departure…

"Newcastle Red Bulls can confirm that head coach Alan Dickens will leave his role on Monday March 16, following a mutual agreement reached at Alan’s request to allow him to pursue other opportunities.

"Alan joined the club in June 2024 and has contributed during a significant period in the club’s development. We thank him for his contribution, and for his work with players and staff during his time here.

"Everyone at Newcastle Red Bulls wishes Alan and his family every success for the future, and the next stage of his career.

"Stephen Jones will assume the role of head coach until the end of the current season."
