After travelling up and down the country to cover the Cobblers over the past 12 months, reporter James Heneghan hands out his own awards for the 2019/20 season...
1. Player of the season
Several candidates for the award, from Callum Morton to Scott Wharton, but you simply can't look beyond the skipper. His leadership, consistency and commanding presence at the back was integral to Town's promotion success. Photo: Pete Norton
2. Best young player
Not many loan signings prove as successful as Scott Wharton. Excellent and so consistent on the left side of Town's back three. A real classy prospect and one to keep an eye on for the future. Can Cobblers get him back next year? Photo: Pete Norton
3. Best signing
Vadaine Oliver looked a shoe-in for this award until Callum Morton came along. The young Baggies striker made an explosive impact, so much so Cobblers almost certainly wouldn't have won promotion without him. Scored 8 in 12.
4. Most improved player
Often a source of division among fans, Sam Hoskins has come on leaps and bounds this season. Finished top scorer with 12 goals and his versatilitywas a major benefit, doing important jobs at wing-back, midfield and up front. Photo: Pete Norton
