Hogg has had 'exciting conversations' with new owners

Cobblers boss Chris Hogg says he is ‘really grateful’ for Sports Alpha Capital’s support and he’s already had some ‘exciting conversations’ with the club’s new majority owners.

SAC completed their takeover at the start of the month and they were officially introduced to Sixfields against Colchester United on Saturday, when co-chairmen Tim Chamberlain and Joao Xavier, as well as Alexandre Pato, were all in attendance.

The new owners have been steadfast in their support of Hogg and the current squad since they officially took the reins, despite a mixed start to the season.

“It’s been terrific,” said Hogg. “I’m really appreciative of the support they’ve given myself and the staff and that’s allowed us to continue working and growing. We need to keep developing and evolving that.

“Kelvin (Thomas) and the guys did a great job on the handover, massive respect goes to them, but all the new guys have come in and they’ve been close to us and visited the boys at the training ground. The consistent messaging and their support really helps.

“Things are changing and growing all the time off the pitch and the challenge for us as a club now is to understand the landscape we’re navigating and trying to be consistent on the pitch. Everything goes into the performances.”

Hogg is looking forward to working closely with SAC as they look to bring success to Sixfields.

He added: “I’ve had some really positive talks and the communication has been good. I appreciate their support and there’s a lot of exciting things happening and exciting conversations. It’s great to have people involved in the club who are passionate about the sport and passionate about Northampton.

“It’s been great so far and my job is to make this club as successful as possible and try to develop it and and evolve it over the course of time. There’s been lots of positive conversations and we just have to keep attacking each game as it comes.”
