Hogg: FA Cup gives us chance to grow 'connection' with supporters
Chris Hogg believes Saturday’s FA Cup tie against York City provides Cobblers with an opportunity to regain some momentum.
After eight points from five games and several improved performances, Town spurned the chance to keep building when beaten 1-0 by Oldham in disappointing fashion on Tuesday.

The club have a terrible recent record in the FA Cup, failing to win a first round tie for seven years, but a change of competition might be just what they need.
"Some of my earliest memories in football were in the FA Cup supporting Middlesbrough,” said Hogg. "It’s a really good competition for every club at all levels.
“It can bring prestigious ties and big games and I’ve got good memories as a coach, especially at Bristol City where we beat West Ham and took Nottingham Forest to a replay.
"It’s a competition that can help you build momentum in the league so we want to go there and win the game and that’s the mentality we need every week”
Hogg hopes the FA Cup can help Cobblers come through their current sticky spell.
He added: "People and fans love the competition and it can give people belief and that’s something we’re still fighting for. We want to give fans something to get behind every game rather than every other game.
"It can definitely help build that connection with the fanbase and we need to get through the tough moments, but we’ll get there, and the FA Cup can certainly add a bit of sparkle.”
