Hogg could make changes for Cobblers' third game in a week
Chris Hogg could make changes when Cobblers play their third game in a week against Colchester United on Saturday.
Hogg has named the same starting XI for the last three games, including Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat to Tranmere, but he does have options to freshen things up. Elliott List, Sam Hoskins, Tyrese Fornah and James Maxwell are among those who have been on the bench recently, while neither Logan Briggs nor Harvey Saunders have made the matchday 18 since the international break.

"We'll use the squad and we'll have to,” said Hogg. “The group that started (on Tuesday) deserved to play after the performance at the weekend. Impact from the bench is always important at any level and we'll need it through the season and we'll need it on Saturday.
"We'll see how the boys come in on Thursday and see how they look and then we'll pick a team to win against Colchester. There's a few bumps and bruises but in the main I think we're ok.”
Town made a fast start against Tranmere but struggled to maintain the intensity, especially once they fell 1-0 behind shortly before half-time.
"We have to recharge and reenergise,” Hogg added. “Let's have a positive reaction and a positive performance. If we can make it six points in the week, it would be a good return. There has been progress in terms of the attacking metrics.
"It was a solid display but you come away frustrated. I want a positive end to the week and let's support each other, inside the building and outside the building, and make sure it's a real good atmosphere.”
