With the retained list expected this week, Nolan is currently meeting his players. He must decide the futures of 16 out-of-contract players, as well as those who remain under contract for another season. Cobblers may also look at re-signing one or two of their loan players. Here’s a look at the situation ahead of the retained list...
17. Ben Perry
Will go back to Forest after Saturday but it'd be a surprise if Cobblers didn't at least try and get him back given the impressive way he's stepped up in the second half of the season Photo: Pete Norton
18. Terry Taylor
Goes back to Charlton after a hugely impressive loan spell at Sixfields. Cobblers fans would love to see him back and no doubt the club will try, either on loan again or permanently, but hard not to see other clubs being interested, assuming Charlton don't want to keep him Photo: Pete Norton
19. Will Hondermarck

20. Liam Shaw
Contracted until 2027. Such a shame about his knee injury but he'll be a big player next season if he can get back fit and rediscover his form from January and February Photo: Pete Norton
