With the retained list expected this week, Nolan is currently meeting his players. He must decide the futures of 16 out-of-contract players, as well as those who remain under contract for another season. Cobblers may also look at re-signing one or two of their loan players. Here’s a look at the situation ahead of the retained list...

22. Liam McCarron
Out of contract and hasn't played since New Year's Day. Will leave after Saturday's game Photo: Pete Norton
23. Sam Hoskins
Contracted until 2026 and he's set for his 10th season at the club. He'll be hoping to both hit 100 goals and overtake Ian Sampson in second place on the all-time list of appearance makers, especially now he's had an operation to hopefully resolve his knee problem Photo: Pete Norton
24. Mitch Pinnock
Out of contract but it'd be a big surprise if he's not offered a new one. Has started every game under Nolan and will finish the season with more than 50 appearances in all comps, way more than anyone else Photo: Pete Norton
