With the retained list expected this week, Nolan is currently meeting his players. He must decide the futures of 16 out-of-contract players, as well as those who remain under contract for another season. Cobblers may also look at re-signing one or two of their loan players. Here’s a look at the situation ahead of the retained list...
9. Luke Mbete
Will head back to City in the summer, where he's contracted until 2027, and a return to Sixfields does not seem likely given his injury issues, although his talent is not in question Photo: Pete Norton
10. Jack Baldwin
Contracted until 2026 but he's also been unlucky with injuries. Similar situation to Willis. Will probably stay and he's a good option to have in the squad but a summer exit isn't completely off the table Photo: Pete Norton
11. Max Dyche
Out of contract but it'd be a surprise if he's not offered some kind of new deal Photo: Pete Norton
12. Akin Odimayo
Out of contract but he's had his best ever season in terms of appearances (43) and at 25 should be entering his peak. His versatility has also come in very handy. Every chance he'll be offered a new contract. Photo: Pete Norton
