With the retained list expected this week, Nolan is currently meeting his players. He must decide the futures of 16 out-of-contract players, as well as those who remain under contract for another season. Cobblers may also look at re-signing one or two of their loan players. Here’s a look at the situation ahead of the retained list...
5. Jon Guthrie
Out of contract but will almost certainly be offered at least a one-year deal despite still recovering from a long-term knee injury. Loyalty is a two-way street and there's no reason he can't get back to his best again Photo: Pete Norton
6. Jordan Willis
Under contract for another 12 months so seems set to stay, although wouldn't be a surprise to see him leave depending on how the summer unfolds and what opportunities arise, especially with Nolan emphasising the need for more robustness in his squad Photo: Pete Norton
7. Nesta Guinness-Walker
Excellent business to get him tied down until 2026. A revelation after joining on a free last autumn Photo: Pete Norton
8. Ali Koiki
