Cobblers send young striker on loan to Corby

Young Cobblers striker Caleb Chukwuemeka has joined Corby Town on loan.

The 18-year-old, whose brother is on the books of Aston Villa, was on the bench for Town's FA Cup fourth round replay at Derby County on Tuesday.

He's currently on a two-year scholarship with Northampton's football and education programme and played in the FA Youth Cup tie against Colchester United earlier in the season.

Corby play in Division One Central of the Southern League and Chukwuemeka goes straight into the squad for today's clash at Biggleswade.

Elsewhere, Town defender Ryan Hughes is currently with Banbury United, goalkeeper Bradley Lashley is at St Ives Town and Billy Waters is spending the rest of the season with Newport County. making three appearances so far.

On open-ended work experiences, allowing them to play for their work experience club as well as Northampton's U18s, are goalkeeper Dylan Berry (Biggleswade United), central defender Josh Flanagan (Wellingborough Town), striker Urijah Gordon-Douglas (St Andrews), striker Michael Harding (Kettering Town), goalkeeper Lewi Patching and midfielder Haydn Price (both Wellingborough).
