A Northamptonshire farmhouse has been transformed into an unusual overnight escape room experience, challenging visitors to solve a mystery while enjoying a luxury countryside getaway.
The Chester House Estate is offering groups of up to six people the chance to spend the night in a restored farmhouse apartment that doubles as an immersive puzzle adventure.
But this is no ordinary staycation.
From the moment guests check in, they become part of a fictional mission to outsmart a mysterious criminal mastermind known only as "404", navigating hidden clues, high-tech challenges and unexpected twists.
The experience lasts approximately 20 hours, with riddles, puzzles and surprises continuing throughout the stay.
Guests receive a mission statement by email around 24 to 48 hours before arrival, including instructions for accessing the accommodation using a lockbox key safe.
Check-in begins at 4pm, when the adventure immediately gets underway, with checkout at noon the following day.
The accommodation itself offers plenty of comfort alongside the mystery.
Spread across two floors, the restored farmhouse apartment features two double bedrooms, a double sofa bed, a large bathroom, an en-suite and an additional toilet.
There is also a fully equipped kitchen, living area and dining room, alongside views across the Nene Valley.
The combination of countryside accommodation and interactive entertainment makes the experience an unusual option for families, groups of friends or anyone looking for something different to celebrate a special occasion.
The overnight adventure costs £400 for up to six participants, equivalent to approximately £66.67 each when the accommodation is fully occupied.
There are no minimum age restrictions, although children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The experience is advertised as available seven days a week, although the accommodation is not listed as accessible.
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months, with flexible booking, easy exchanges and instant delivery available.
A 10 per cent discount is also advertised.
For those who enjoy escape rooms but wish the adventure could last longer, this Northamptonshire experience offers a night of mystery alongside a countryside stay.
