Adrenaline junkies can experience the ultimate airborne adventure as they soar through the skies strapped to the wing of a vintage biplane, with a wing walking experience available at Sywell Aerodrome.

Thrill-seekers looking for an unforgettable adventure can take to the skies strapped to the wing of a vintage aircraft in an extraordinary flying experience available in Northamptonshire.

Anyone who has ever dreamed of soaring through the clouds with nothing but the open sky around them can now experience the thrill of wing walking at Sywell Aerodrome.

The experience, offered by the AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, gives participants the chance to stand on top of a Boeing Stearman biplane as an expert pilot performs a series of exciting aerial manoeuvres.

And it is certainly not an adventure for the faint-hearted.

Strapped securely into a specially designed harness above the aircraft, participants will experience dramatic flypasts, climbing turns, steep dives and banks while enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

The £489 experience is available at six locations across the UK, including Sywell in Northamptonshire, making it a particularly tempting option for local adrenaline junkies.

AeroSuperBatics is known for its spectacular aerobatic wingwalking displays, with the experience giving members of the public an opportunity to discover what it feels like to take part in this unusual form of aviation.

On arrival, participants are welcomed by the team before receiving a safety briefing and preparing for their flight.

They are then secured into position on the aircraft's upper wing before taking to the skies with an experienced wingwalking display pilot.

The flight lasts between eight and 10 minutes, although participants should allow up to three hours for the complete experience.

Friends and family are welcome to watch from the ground, giving them the opportunity to witness the aerial adventure and capture the moment.

The experience has received a five-star rating from 20 customer reviews.

One customer, Hilary, described her visit in August 2026 as a "Dream come true", adding: "Fantastic day from start to finish."

Another, Stephen, said: "What an experience!!!! Fantastic venue, staff and experience."

There are some important restrictions for anyone considering taking part.

Participants must be at least 18 years old, no taller than 6ft 2in, weigh no more than 14 stone and have a maximum waist measurement of 40 inches, including clothing.

They must also be able to climb onto the aircraft without assistance and meet the operator's medical and safety requirements.

Gift vouchers cost £489, are valid for 12 months and can be delivered instantly, making the experience a potential present for someone who enjoys trying something completely different.

Bookings are recommended at least four to six weeks in advance, with all dates subject to availability.

For anyone searching for a birthday surprise, milestone celebration or once-in-a-lifetime adventure, this could be an opportunity to see Northamptonshire from a completely different perspective.
