A series of road closures will affect Northampton throughout November and December, with Wellingborough Road, Billing Road and Spencer Bridge Road among the routes facing disruption.

The Vale will close on November 9, followed by East Park Parade between Abington Avenue and Abington Grove on November 10.

Billing Road will close between Alexandra Road and Cliftonville Road on November 16 for drainage works, with traffic diverted via Cheyne Walk, Bedford Road and Cliftonville Road.

On November 18, Wellingborough Road will close southbound between Park Avenue South and Wantage Road for one day. The diversion uses Abington Avenue, Abington Grove, Kettering Road and Raglan Street.

The Avenue is also scheduled to close for one night on November 18.

Yardley Drive and the eastbound section of Spencer Bridge Road between Gladstone Road and Martins Lane are due to close on November 20. The latter restriction is expected to last one night.

Further Northampton closures include Kenmuir Crescent and Brookland Road on November 23, Lower Farm Road and Highfield Road on November 24, and Victoria Road on November 26.

Palmerston Road will close on December 2, Pytchley Street on December 11 and Cliftonville, near Northampton General Hospital, for two nights from December 17.

Elsewhere, restrictions are planned for roads in Roade, Weedon Bec, Hollowell, Shutlanger, Maidwell, Greatworth, Overstone, Welford, Kilsby, Deanshanger and Paulerspury, alongside a footpath closure in Silverstone.

In Roade, pedestrian restrictions on Tithe Way and St Marys Way are expected to last up to 29 days from November 9 for gas main renewal works.

Most individual road closures are expected to last between one day and five days, although some will last longer. The legal orders generally allow restrictions for up to 18 months, but they apply only when signs are displayed.

Drivers should follow the signed diversions.
