Serious collision closes A5 in Northamptonshire, fire service warns
The A5 has been closed in both directions following a serious collision in Northamptonshire this morning (September 15).
Emergency services are at the scene on Watling Street, with the closure affecting the stretch of the A5 between Weedon and Kilsby.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service issued an update at around 7.20am, advising motorists to avoid the area.
A spokesperson said: “The A5 Watling Street is currently closed in both directions between Weedon and Kilsby following a serious collision this morning.
“Motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
“Thank you for your patience while emergency services deal with this incident.”
No further details about the collision, including the number of vehicles involved or whether anyone has been injured, have yet been released.
