Tractor run raises £5,247 for Northampton hospice celebrating 50th anniversary
"We honestly couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of everyone involved, and we are so grateful to each and every one of you."
A charity tractor run organised by Towcester Young Farmers has raised more than £5,200 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice, more than doubling the group's original fundraising target.
The event, held on Sunday, brought in £5,247.55 for the Northamptonshire charity, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The young farmers had initially hoped to raise £2,000 but exceeded that amount by more than £3,200 thanks to donations and support from the local community.

The fundraiser forms part of Cynthia Spencer Hospice's anniversary campaign, which aims to raise £100,000 through 50 major fundraising events, each with a target of £2,000.
According to Towcester Young Farmers, the overall fundraising goal would provide almost a year's care for one hospice patient.
Following the event, the group thanked everyone who had helped organise, support or take part in the tractor run.
In a statement on social media, Towcester Young Farmers said: "We honestly couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of everyone involved, and we are so grateful to each and every one of you."
The group also thanked the Burt and Summers families for welcoming participants onto their farms and helping make the event possible.
Radmore Farm donated burgers and bacon, while Heygates Ltd provided sponsorship and Philippa's Farm Shop supplied sausage rolls for the midway stop.
Organisers said the support of local businesses, volunteers and residents had helped the fundraiser surpass expectations.
They added: "We are absolutely delighted that, thanks to your generosity, we have raised more than double of our £2,000 target, helping Cynthia Spencer get one step closer to reaching their amazing £100,000 goal!"
The money raised will contribute towards the hospice charity's anniversary appeal, which is bringing together fundraising activities to support its work.
Although the tractor run has finished, donations are still being accepted by Towcester Young Farmers.

The group said it was grateful to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered or helped with the organisation of the event.
