West Northamptonshire Council launches winter coat appeal to help families struggling with rising costs
Residents across West Northamptonshire are being urged to donate unwanted winter coats to help families and individuals struggling with the cost of living.
West Northamptonshire Council has launched its annual Coat Collection Campaign, which aims to provide free warm clothing to people facing financial difficulties during the colder months.
The initiative will see donated coats distributed through the council’s Customer Hubs between October and February.
Both adult and children’s coats are welcome, provided they are clean, warm and in good condition.

Councillor Andrew Last, cabinet member for HR, corporate services and regulatory services, said: “As temperatures fall, many people face difficult choices between heating their homes and meeting other essential costs.
“We all need help sometimes, and this campaign is a simple but effective way for us to come together and support others in our community.
“If you have a winter coat that is still in good condition but no longer needed, please consider donating it.
“Your generosity could help keep a child or adult warm throughout the winter months.”
Residents can drop off coats at any council Customer Hub, where people needing warm clothing can also collect a donated coat free of charge.
Anyone requiring assistance should speak to a customer adviser.
