Covid-19 has presented challenges for us all, but particularly town centres. And, Northampton has been no different with Tesco and Sainsbury's recently announcing a downsizing and closure, respectively.
Following a challenging few months for Northampton, the town’s independent businesses have come together to urge residents to rediscover and support the town centre – while remaining vigilant to social distancing and protecting others.

"If you haven’t been to Northampton for a while, I would urge you to do as the video suggests and come and rediscover our town.
"We have a great mix of both historic attractions, specialist independent retailers and great services. We look forward to welcoming people back.”
The borough council has released a video showcasing a snapshot of both the town’s most popular attractions and hidden gems - including favourites including Mooch, Vintage Guru and St Giles Cheese.

The video includes major attractions such as 78 Derngate, which has reopened to the public for pre-booked tours, through to restaurants such as Saffron, who have gone above and beyond to help the local community throughout the pandemic, and shops such as Watts the Furnishers, a family business that has been in Northampton for 124 years.
The video has been produced by Northampton Borough Council’s “Love Northampton” campaign, in conjunction with Northampton BID and is funded by the ERDF Reopening High Streets Safely fund.
