So many fondly-remembered pubs have shut their doors over the years but are still in the memories of their customers.
These photos - researched by Dave Knibb, the Northampton author of 'Last Orders: A History and Directory of Northampton Pubs' - show some of the town's old stomping grounds. Do you remember stopping for a drink in any of them?
9. Saracen's Head - Lawrence Street, Barrack Road
The Saracen's Head did well in the 20th century before shutting down in 1970. Not much more to say unless it was one of your locals.
10. Green Dragon - Mayorhold and Bearward Street
A slightly older photo, The site of the former Green Dragon - which shut in 1969 - is now under the corner of the Mayorhold carp park.
11. The Morning Star - Great Russell Street/Earl Street
Another fondly remembered pub that disappeared in 1974. Legends say it had two entrances so husbands could nip out the back when irate wives came searching for them.
12. Spotted Dog - Grafton Street
The Spotted Dog was something of a clinger-on until it was closed in 1971. It did well as one of the last pubs in its area and is fondly remembered by some of Northampton's older residents.
