So many fondly-remembered pubs have shut their doors over the years but are still in the memories of their customers.
These photos - researched by Dave Knibb, the Northampton author of 'Last Orders: A History and Directory of Northampton Pubs' - show some of the town's old stomping grounds. Do you remember stopping for a drink in any of them?
5. Bull Hotel, Regent Square
Yet another casualty of roads being widened. The Bull Hotel was knocked down in 1985. This picture shows it at the junction of Regent Square where a row of shops exist today.
6. Queens Arms - Market Square
Another of the Market Squares lost pubs. A favourite haunt of market traders, shoppers and a staple of the town's nightlife. Sadly, it closed its doors in 1974.
7. Clinton Arms - Clinton Road, far Cotton
The Clinton Arms was claimed in 1985 to make way for the roundabout between St Leonard's Road, Towcester Road and the nearby retail parks.
8. The Mire Inn - "King Street"
The Mitre was knocked down to make way for the Moat House (better known as the Park Inn by Radisson in Silver Street) in 1971.
