Roseshire Festival a ‘huge success’ says organisers of maiden music festival at Northamptonshire's Chester House Estate

Roseshire Festival made its debut at Chester House this bank holiday weekend, bringing the community together with tunes from artists big and small, local and far-reaching.

While the weekend was plagued with wet weather, thousands turned out to the heritage site to see artists such as supergroup duo Boyzlife, The Charlatans, The Hoosiers and Northants Sings Out.

The event, set in the grounds of the Chester House Estate, welcomed guests during the weekend with live music, fairground games and local food stalls.

A Chester House Estate spokesman said: “We are still absolutely buzzing - what a bank holiday weekend that was! Thank you to everyone who has supported this.

“Roseshire Festival has been epic for this first year - a massive thank you to the organisers, suppliers and volunteers who made it all happen.

“This was an incredibly proud moment for us to see the hard work pay off and bring some huge names in music to our county - at a festival that is genuinely rooted in where we live.”

Though there were some ‘teething problems’ being Roseshire’s first outing, organisers are keen to bring it back next year.

Jak Leese, managing director of Roseshire Festival, said: “Thank you to everyone who supported us. This event is our first and I think it was a huge success. A few teething issues things that we can’t control, but stuff we can control, vendors, VIP system and some other teething issues, we’ll go back to the drawing board and look at.

“We’re going to look to do this again, I think we have something special here, the messages and comments we’ve got have been incredible.”

The two-day event featured an indie and alternative line-up featuring The Charlatans, Embrace, Cast and The Bluetones on Saturday (August 29) before evolving into a more family-centric festival experience, headlined by Boyzlife, Eternal, The Hoosiers and Chris Moyles’ 90s Hangover.

Maddox Jones, a Northampton-based artist who also performed during the weekend, said the festival’s maiden showing was ‘amazing.’

He said: “Just got home from Roseshire Festival. What a day.

“Just wanted to do a quick post to say a massive thank you to everyone behind the festival for creating something so amazing.

“So well organised, a brilliant line-up, so many great artists, a brilliant crowd and such a strong sense of community.

"Everyone backstage was so welcoming too, and you could really feel how much work and passion had gone into making the day happen.

“It feels like the start of something really exciting for the area, and I’m really grateful I got to be part of it.”

A spokesman for North Northants Council, which oversees Chester House Estate, said: “The team at the Chester House Estate, alongside the event organisers, were delighted to welcome thousands of attendees to the first Roseshire Festival.

“The atmosphere on site was exceptional across the weekend and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves - even in the rain.

“We are already looking forward to 2027’s event.”
