Paul Hurst put Rotherham into an early lead but Richard Walker and Martin Smith turned things around to set up a juicy fourth-round clash with Manchester United. We take a look at the line-up that afternoon. Can the current Cobblers class follow in their steps at Burton on Sunday?
9. Attacking midfield: Martin Smith
His goal at Sixfields earned Town a replay in the first place and he then secured the shock win over Rotherham with a 54th-minute free-kick, which capped an outstanding display. One of 15 goals in 55 games over the season.
10. Forward: Derek Asamoah
Unlucky not to open the scoring before Hurst's free-kick as his pace tormented the home side throughout. The then 22-year-old made 40 appearances during the season. Signed for Mansfield in 2004 and played for 12 other clubs.
11. Forward: Richard Walker
On loan from Blackpool at the time, he brought Cobblers level shortly before half-time when nodding home Smith's free-kick, but unfortunately missed the subsequent tie against United after being recalled by his parent club.
12. Marc Richards
Made a late substitute appearance as a 21-year-old, replacing Derek Asamoah for the final eight minutes.
