Paul Hurst put Rotherham into an early lead but Richard Walker and Martin Smith turned things around to set up a juicy fourth-round clash with Manchester United. We take a look at the line-up that afternoon. Can the current Cobblers class follow in their steps at Burton on Sunday?
1. GK: Lee Harper
The goalkeeper, in his second of five seasons at the club, couldn't keep out Paul Hurst's free-kick but Town turned it around and his save from John Mullin in injury-time set Cobblers on their way to facing Man Utd in round four.
2. CB: Ian Sampson
The Cobblers legend, now academy manager at the club, led a superb defensive performance at Millmoor. It was one of 47 appearances during his last season at Sixfields - as a player at least.
3. CB: Paul Reid
Made the 100,000 switch from Rangers to Northampton in the summer of 2003 and was a regular for the Cobblers before leaving for Barnsley 12 months later. Returned to Sixfields for a second time in 2013.
4. CB: Chris Willmott
Another mainstay of the defence that season, racking up 45 starts in all. Was one of two years at the club before spending four years at Oxford United.
