Police issue dispersal order around Limehurst Square area of Duston after 150 teenagers turn up to fake Halloween party
Around 150 teenagers arrived at Duston Community Centre expecting to attend a Halloween party only to find the venue was closed with police called shortly afterwards.
Police were made aware on Saturday evening of a Halloween party that had been advertised on social media at Duston Community Centre on Pendle Road, Northampton.
Around 150 young people had attended believing a party was taking place, according to Northamptonshire Police.
However, the event had not been organised by the venue and the community centre was closed.

As a result, officers and PCSOs attended the area and issued a message asking parents and carers to collect their children with a dispersal order later issued to clear the area.
The urgent message said: “This is a message for parents and carers whose children are attending a party at the Duston community centre , Pendle Road, Northampton . There is no party, the community centre is closed and you need to collect your children ASAP.”
One concerned parent said the situation the teenagers found themselves in was ‘dangerous.’
She said: “I think this needs looking into. Someone sent out an invite for a party that was never happening.
"There were hundreds of 14 / 15 year olds that had been dropped off just hanging around the street. Very strange that all of the girls had been told it was fancy dress and were all wearing very little, yet non of the boys had fancy dress.
"Luckily some of us had the sense to collect our children and take them home, a lot of them were left hanging around the streets or trying to find alternative parties to go to - VERY dangerous situation for them to be in.”
Police confirmed to the Chron that a Section 34 dispersal order was authorised and the area was cleared by around 10pm.
A spokesperson for the force said: “There were no reports of any significant disorder and the matter was resolved safely.”
