Thousands of cases were heard at Northamptonshire's three criminal courts last year, with most dealt with by magistrates.
But cases involving a serious offence are heard by a crown court judge.

The Rothwell paedophile amassed a horrendous collection of over 175,000 indecent images of children and claimed he rarely looked at them. He was jailed for 22 months.
14. SIFEAN GHILANI
The Wellingborough killer was found guilty of manslaughter after stabbing a man in a botched robbery. He was jailed for more than 14 years with two others also jailed.
15. CAMERON OWEN
The gold-toothed Rushden drug dealer thought he was untouchable. He wasn't. Police arrested him and he was jailed for four years.
16. CHELSEA MCINTYRE
Months after she was released from prison for stealing from residents at a Desborough care home, she became involved in a class A drugs operation. She was given a suspended sentence.
