The charity, which creates Moses basket starter packs for mums who need them, was previously based in a shared space meaning the team spent valuable time packing and unpacking their items. Now, a relocation to ‘The Keep House’ at Scott Bader’s head office in Wollaston means they will have more time to help vulnerable and disadvantaged mums.

Micki Carey-Slater, communications and grant lead at Baby Basics, said: “We are so excited about the move and what it means for our charity.

“Previously we had a shared space and this meant that we were spending precious time unpacking and packing from our cupboard – up to six hours a week.

“The flexibility of a dedicated space has given us the time to prepare more baskets and a firm foundation for continuing to grow as a charity.”

The charity’s move to bigger premises was made possible by the grant and help received from The ARM Trust.

Julie Bainbridge from Baby Basics added: “Our community is fantastic.

“We know that we would not be where we are, in Wollaston, without everyone who has been involved in Baby Basics, Northampton over the past seven years.

“We are aware that many families will be financially impacted by the current pandemic and with our community’s continued support we are committed to being there for them over the next weeks and months.”

As key workers, supporting the NHS and other professionals, the team is continuing despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Although the current situation means the charity is unable to mark the move with any celebrations, it is hoped that an open day to mark the move will be held later in the year.

The pandemic also means that Baby Basics is unable to take items from the general public so it is instead asking for donations via its local giving page.
