Admirable founder celebrating second year in business with free retreat for women on the other side of cancer

An admirable founder is celebrating her second year in business in Northamptonshire with a free day retreat for women on the other side of cancer treatment.

Jodie Beteli launched FLO Sound & Breathwork in September 2024, after leaving her role as a secondary school teacher which she had done for her entire working life.

It was during the pandemic when Jodie had two children within 12 months of one another which gave her the opportunity to reflect.

She realised the things she normally did for her wellbeing, such as running or going to the gym, no longer suited her lifestyle – which is when she discovered breathwork.

Jodie put this interest to one side when the world opened back up post-pandemic and returned to her job as a teacher.

With her newfound love for breathwork, Jodie realised the only place she had done self-regulation techniques like this was in the special needs school she worked in at the time.

It was then when she realised she wanted to share breathwork as a therapeutic tool with as many people as she could, and Jodie left her former job in the summer of 2024 before launching her business a few months later.

Jodie offers group sessions, one-to-ones, corporate bookings and events, with the aim of helping people reset and restore through the power of breathwork and soundbaths. The therapeutic but functional classes offer the chance to connect with the mind and body.

To celebrate FLO Sound & Breathwork surpassing its second anniversary, Jodie and breast cancer survivor Rachel Richards are hosting an event from 1pm on October 4 at Flore House – packed with yoga, meditation, breathwork and soundbath, alongside food and goodie bags.

This is a free retreat for women who have walked through cancer treatment, are finding their way into whatever comes next, and undoubtedly deserve a day just for them. Jodie is asking for nominations of who should attend this day of light, joy, laughter and love.

Jodie understands that when cancer treatment ends, there is unexpected space as the appointments slow down and everyone around you starts to move on while you are processing, rebuilding and figuring out who you are on the other side of it.

FLO Sound & Breathwork wanted to create a day where women can come as they are to a space designed to pause, breathe, reconnect and gather with others who understand the journey.

Through restorative stretches, meditation, breathwork and sound, attendees will explore practices to encourage calm, regulation, positivity and reconnecting with joy as they take the next steps beyond treatment.

The aim is to celebrate themselves, as well as to laugh, breathe, connect, feel held and remember there is still so much life, light and joy ahead.

Jodie has received support from Northamptonshire-based businesses Spread, Els Bakes, Coco & Luna Crystals, You & Me Collective, and Red Reflexology to bring this event to life, among other national brands.
