Thought of by some as the greatest guitarist of all time, Eric Clapton’s shows at the Royal Albert Hall and in Birmingham in 2027 are selling out fast

Legendary guitar hero Eric Clapton is playing five shows in the UK next year and tickets are selling out. He will be 82 by the time he plugs in his Fender Stratocaster to begin next year’s UK gigs but still has the musicianship and the voice to wow fans young and old.

‘Slowhand’ is scheduled to play five shows in the UK over the course of 2027, one in Birmingham at bp Pulse Live and the other four at The Royal Albert Hall, in London, where tickets are already described as either limited or low availability by official ticket outlet Ticketmaster here.

Fans at recent shows have described them as “fantastic” and “wonderful”.

The Birmingham show takes place on Monday, May 17, followed by the residency at the Royal Albert Hall, which begins on Thursday, May 20, with subsequent shows on Friday, May 21; Sunday, May 23, and Monday, May 24.

There are general sale tickets available for the Birmingham show and are priced from £115.70 here. One drawback is that these tickets are a fair way from the stage but there are other ticketing options available to fans, including VIP packages via Ticketmaster here although these are in short supply.

There are Eric Clapton tickets closer to the action that are available via resellers such as Viagogo, StubHub and Vivid Tickets. These are not official ticket outlets but allow fans to sell to other fans but official outlets such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation sometimes forbid the transfer of tickets so check terms and conditions.

That said, Viagogo, StubHub and Vivid Tickets all offer guarantees to users of their sites.

Currently, Viagogo is advertising tickets in the first areas in front of the stage in Birmingham from £191 here. StubHub has Birmingham tickets from £178.27, albeit further back in the arena and Vivid Seats has tickets for Birmingham from £178 and from £165 for the Royal Albert Hall show on Monday, May 21, here.

One fan who saw Clapton in Nottingham last year said: “Fantastic night of great music from a legend. Supported by Andy Fairweather Low and some fantastic musicians, exceeded my expectations.

Another fan said: “Wonderful show. Eric Clapton has still got it, regardless of age!”
