Market town venue ‘absolutely delighted’ to be named county’s world cuisine restaurant of the year
A market town venue run by a brother duo is “absolutely delighted” to have been named Northamptonshire’s world cuisine restaurant of the year, having come so close in 2025.
Donny and Sula Mazrreku run Truva Lounge Cocktail Bar at the heart of Towcester in White Horse Yard, which opened to the public in February 2022.
The team serves Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, consisting of authentic charcoal grilled dishes including kebabs, seafood, vegetarian and vegan options.
Donny and Sula worked at a Spanish restaurant together as head chef and sous chef, and this is when they decided to set up their own business. They have seen great success over the past four-and-a-half years since they took the leap to launch their venture.

The freshly marinated food, which offers something for everyone, is accompanied by a bar of cocktails, wines and draught beers, among many more options.
The brother duo stand by the fact that Towcester was the ideal place to establish their first business, having decided to launch the venture outside of their hometown of Northampton.
Truva Lounge secured silver in the world cuisine restaurant of the year category at last year’s Weetabix Northamptonshire Food & Drink Awards, but went one step further in being awarded gold at the 2026/27 ceremony in recent weeks.
“We are absolutely delighted to win gold, it means a lot,” Donny told the Chronicle & Echo. “There’s so much passion and hard work, and it’s a great feeling that people appreciate what we do. We’re grateful to everyone supporting us.”

Donny wanted to give a special shoutout to his brother Sula for his attention-to-detail as the head chef in the kitchen, as well as the front of house team for their excellent service, as the win would not have been possible without the full team.
“This award gives us confidence that we are doing the hard work and it pays off,” Donny continued. “Customers come from Milton Keynes, Bicester and Coventry, and winning gold makes us feel seen.”
The co-founder believes it is their passion, the taste of the food they cook and the warm welcome which keep customers coming back for more, particularly to celebrate their special occasions.
Being named world cuisine restaurant of the year has given the team the confidence that they are doing a good job, which has solidified Donny and Sula’s plan to open a second venue in the future. They are hopeful that this will be in the Bicester area.
